Revive Mix Beetroot Brownies
When it comes to sports nutrition, recovery doesn’t have to be boring - or bland.
Whether you’ve just wrapped up a tough session or you're prepping for race day, these Beetroot Recovery Brownies are a tasty, nutrient-dense way to support your training goals.
Using with real ingredients like beetroot, dark chocolate and walnuts - plus a scoop of our science-backed Cadence Nutrition Revive Mix - these brownies deliver a smart balance of antioxidants, healthy fats and high-quality protein. It’s the perfect treat to aid muscle repair, replenish glycogen and support your immune system after high-intensity workouts.
Ingredients:
- 500g beetroot
- 100g dark chocolate
- 100g soaked dates
- 50g walnuts
- 1 cup flour
- 1,5 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 3 tsp cocao
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 Tbs coconut oil
- 1 scoop Cadence Nutrition Revive Mix
Method:
- Top, tail and peel the beetroot. Roughly chop and put into a large bowl. Add a splash of water, cover with cling film, then microwave on High for 12 mins or until tender.
- Heat oven to 180°C. While the beetroot cooks, butter then line a 20 x 30cm bake tray. Roughly chop the chocolate and Walnuts. Tip the cooked beetroot into a sieve, drain off any excess liquid, then put into a food processor or blender with the chocolate, dates, and coconut oil. Whizz until the mix is as smooth as you can get it.
- Mix honey and the rest of the wet ingredients in a large bowl. Spoon the beetroot mix into the bowl. Sift in the left over dry ingredients and then throw in the walnuts.
- Pour into the prepared baking tray for 25 mins or until risen all over, with just the merest quiver under the center of the crust when you shake the pan. Cool completely in the tray, then cut into squares and enjoy!
